SERVICEWIDE LAWS AND POLICIES - Water Resources

Current laws and policies require that the following conditions be achieved in the monument for water resources:

	Desired Condition: The Service will perpetuate surface waters and groundwaters as integral components of park aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

	Desired Condition: The Service will determine the quality of park surface and groundwater resources and avoid, whenever possible, the pollution of park waters by human activities occurring within and outside of parks.

	Desired Condition: Natural floodplain values are preserved or restored.

	Desired Condition: The natural and beneficial values of wetlands are preserved and enhanced.
