SERVICEWIDE LAWS AND POLICIES - Land Protection

Current laws and policies require that the following conditions be achieved in the parks regarding land protection:

Desired Condition: Land protection plans will be developed and periodically reviewed and updated for each park containing nonfederal lands or interests that may be subject to acquisition. Land acquisition will be guided by a park's land protection plan. The plans will identify the alternative methods that will provide for the protection of resources, for visitor use, and for development; identify the minimum interests necessary for those purposes; and establish priorities for acquisition of land or interests in land.
